The registration fee covers your admission to the course and all course materials. For in-person classes, you are responsible for lodging and travel-related expenses.
We offer discounts when an organization registers three or more learners at the same time. Please send email to info@mct-isc.com for more information.
We close registration seven to ten days before the first session of a class. This helps ensure that learners complete the pre-work and gives our team time to customize each class to meet the needs of our learners.
You can request a refund up to 14 days before a class starts. We will not be able to issue refunds for requests requested after this date.
Please email info@mct-isc.com if you have any questions or concerns. We will be happy to help.
We reserve the right to cancel a class if we do not have enough learners registered. In the event we need to cancel a class, we will refund your registration or schedule you for another class.
Each class typically includes students from several countries/regions. We run the classes in English. We can make arrangements to allow students to deliver presentations in another language.
Presentations should be between 10-15 minutes in length.
You can choose any topic. You can deliver a presentation on a technical topic (consider topics that you plan to teach in the future). You can also choose to talk about a hobby or other skill that interests you. Select a topic that you are comfortable with, and that you can present in the allotted time.
Yes. We record each presentation. We will share a copy of the presentation with you after the class so that you can see what we see. We use the recording to provide detailed feedback including examples of where you did well and where you can improve.
Sure. Use whatever helps optimize the experience for learners. You can use PowerPoint slides, audio, video, printed documents, and other visual aids.
We combine observations from class facilitators, other learners, and invited MCTs to provide you with the best possible feedback. We evaluate the following aspects of your presentation:
We use Eventbrite.com to process registrations and collect registration fees. Eventbrite.com asks for information needed to process payments.
MCT-ISC.com collects information about learners so that we can customize each class to meet the needs of registered learners. We collect information about the learner's country/region, learning styles, and special needs.
We share specific information with Microsoft about learners. This includes the number of learners in each class, the geopgraphies represented, and the dates of each class. We do not share learner names, email addresses, or other related information with Microsoft. After each class, we do send Microsoft a list of unique certificate numbers that we issued after each class. Micrsoft may use this information to validte MCT applications.
We evaluate all interactions with each student to identify your strengths and weaknesses. We collect feedback from instructors, other students, and invited MCT guests. We use a series of metrics to determine whether to grant certification. We create a feedback report and specific suggestions for each student.
If we identify significant issues for a student, we may temporarily withhold granting a student the instructional skills certification. We will work with the individual student to develop an action plan. We ask the student to deliver a new teach-back presentation when they are confident that they have resolved any identified issues.
