In this highly interactive course, you will learn how to become and excel as a technical trainer. You will learn how to plan and prepare for a class delivery, understand the various delivery methods and technologies that you can use in the classroom, adapt to the needs and learning styles of the students, how to effectively deliver the class, and evaluate student and trainer performance.
In recent years, the industry trend has been for more classes to be delivered to online audiences. We will compare online deliveries with hybrid and in-person class deliveries and show you how you can be most effective with each delivery type.
You will be involved in a variety of exercises and will be active participants in the class. You are encouraged to speak in small groups and in front of the class. You will need to prepare and deliver a short (10 – 15 minutes) presentation.
During each class delivery, we will cover the following topics:
We customize each class to meet the specific needs of the learners in the class.
During each part of a class, we collect feedback about you. We combine feedback from MCT facilitators, other learners, and invited MCTs to evaluate each learner. If you meet the criteria for approval, we provide you with a certificate that you can present to Microsoft when you apply to become an MCT.
If you do not meet the success criteria, we will create an action plan that provides specific guidance to resolve any issues that we identified. We will give you an opportunity to deliver another teach-back presentation later.
We will use the teach-back presentation to provide you with constructive feedback and advice so that you can learn about your own delivery techniques and improve your skills.
We offer both in person and live remote classes. In person classes are two or three days. Live remote classes run as 4-5 sessions spread out over two to three weeks.
We schedule the start and end times of for classes based on the location/time zone for the learners registered for a class.
We ask that each learner complete a survey prior to the in-person class so that we can learn more about you. In addition, we ask that you complete short reading and video viewing assignments prior to class. Learners report that they require 2-3 hours to complete all prework.
We like to keep our classes small to provide the best experience for learners. We have one MCT facilitator for every 5-6 learners. We reserve the right to cancel a class if we have fewer than four registered learners. If we cancel a class we can reschedule the learner for another class or refund the registration fee.
The cost for this course is $1,200 US Dollars per learner. We do offer group discounts.
